Roulette Rules - How to Play Roulette

Roulette originates from France and means "a little wheel" in French. Its history is over than 200 years and in the list of its players are famous people such as Napoleon Bonaparte. Nowadays it is one of the most playable games in Las Vegas and Monte Carlo. Roulette is a famous game among online players as well. Online casinos propose a system of bonuses and different effects of reality that attract gamblers. Despite the fact that the rules of the game are very simple, there are some tips to remember.

Roulette Rules

First of all you should know some rules of etiquette in order not to get into confusing situation. There are seats around the table, but they are only for players. If there are free seats you are not allowed to sit if you are a non-player.

The game starts when the croupier has swept away all losing bets and paid out winning from the previous game. Gamblers have the time to consider their bets until the dealer begins the spin. After the players placed their bets on specially designed roulette table the croupier spins the wheel and drops the ball. When the croupier announces "No more bet", you are not able to make bet or replace your chips.

After the ball stops in one of the pocket, the dealer puts a marker or "dolly" on the winning number or on the winning chips on the roulette table. The croupier clears away losing chips and pays out winning. After that the dealer takes away the marker and the game starts again.

There can be up to 8 players at one play. All players buy chips of different colors in order not to confuse bets during the play. In most cases roulette chips are specially designed and are bought from the dealer. On them you can find printed denomination.

Goal of the Game

The goal of roulette is to predict the number of the pocket, where the ball will land. It seems to be easy but there are several betting systems and strategies, you can use to increase your winning. There exist 2 classes of bets: inside and outside. Each of them has a number of different bets with their own payout percentages. The most favorable payouts are offered by inside bets but they are of high risk. Outside bets hit with frequency nearly 50%, but their payout percentages are low.
